I bought this 7-inch action figure because I was so totally in an Assassin's Creed mood. I was working my way through Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and was a little frustrated with the game and, I don't know, was wishing for simpler times.
The original Assassin's Creed seemed so amazingly fresh and unique. It was also a risky venture, having a dark-complexioned hero (sorry, but minorities are still under-represented in video games, especially people from the Middle East) who battled both Muslims and Christians in conflicts that seemed, sadly, all too familiar.
So, I was browsing Amazon.com and came across this attractive seven-inch figurine and ordered it. I have lots of little plastic people of varying quality in my collection (and here, I must repeat the oft-quoted nerd anthem – they're NOT dolls, they're ACTION FIGURES.) But I don't have many, even of similar size, that have this level of detail and intricacy. The weapons are all removable and even the assassin's glove with its hidden blade is retractable. Put simply, the designers put a lot in very little space. The toy producer, NECA, also has a hit-and-miss history on action figures in my opinion but they've done well on this one.
Bottom line: it's a nice collectable if you're an Assassin's Creed fan. Priced at only $20.00, it's also not a huge investment for the quality.
